Eligibility For Admission:

The candidate seeking admission must:-
Have passed MSc Nursing Degree of this university or any other University accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with 55% marks in aggregate

Have a minimum of one year of experience after obtaining MSc Nursing (Basic) & B.Sc. (N) Post Basic from 08-09 batch onwards no such experience is needed for MSC Nursing (PC) Students.

Course Of Study

Duration : The MSc Nursing (Post Basic) course of study shall extend over a period of 2 academic years from the date of commencement of his/her study of the subjects. Terms and vacations shall be as notified by the university from time to time.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidate seeking admission should fill up the Application form attached to this prospectus and should send it to the Principal, Sarvodaya College of Nursing along with D.D. of Rs. 300/- being the Application fee. The DD should be made Payable in Bangalore and drawn in favour of Sarvodaya College of Nursing. Application and registration fee once paid will not be refunded

 
Attendance Requirements for MSc Nursing

To be eligible for the University Examination, each student must obtain a certificate of satisfactory attendance, progress, and conduct from the Head of the Institution. A minimum of 80% attendance is required in both theory and practical sessions for each subject. Additionally, students must engage in actual nursing practice for at least 20 hours per week.

Sessional Requirements for MSc Nursing

Continuous internal assessment will be conducted, following the guidelines set by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The university reserves the right to verify internal assessments as needed. Students must achieve at least 50% in their practical internal assessments to qualify for the University Examinations in MSc Nursing.

Submission of Dissertation for MSc Nursing

Candidates are required to submit a dissertation in their chosen specialty within the MSc Nursing program. Each student will have a guide from their nursing specialty and a co-guide who is a qualified Medical or Nursing professional in that specialty. The completed thesis must be submitted to the university two months prior to the final university examination.

By fulfilling these requirements, students can successfully progress through their MSc Nursing program and prepare for their future careers in nursing.

EXAMINATION
1. There shall be a university Examination conducted at the end of each Academic year.
2. There shall be supplementary examination conducted during the winter vacation of each year for the benefit of failed students.
3. Candidate may be permitted to carry over two subjects from first year M.Sc., Nursing to the second year M.Sc., Nursing & should clear those subject before appearing final year Examination
Each branch will have 7 papers, two practical and dissertation.
Five common papers namely:

  •  Advanced Concepts of Health and Nursing.
  • Biological and Psychosocial Foundations of Nursing Section A and Section B. T
  • Education and Nursing Education.
  • Biostatistics, Research Methodology and Nursing Research. C
  •  Administration and Nursing Administration.
  • In case of Nursing specialty each specialty is having 2 theory papers and 2 practical,
     1) Nursing Speciality-1
    2) Nursing Speciality-2

CLASSIFICATION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES


The result of the successful Candidates will be declared as follows Distinction : 75% & above in aggregate provided the Candidate pass the examination in first attempt. First Class 65% & Above in aggregate provided the Candidate pass the examination in first attempt. Pass 55% in each of theory & practical separately including internal assessment.
