The Candidate seeking PCBSC Nursing admission must:
Duration The PCBSc Nursing (Post Basic) course of study shall extend over a period of 2 academic years from the date of commencement of his/her study of the subjects. Terms and vacations shall be as notified by the university from time to time.
Attendance
For PCBSc Nursing, a minimum of 80% attendance in both theory and practical/clinical sessions separately in each subject each academic year is essential for appearing in examinations. Candidates must study full-time at the college for the entire duration of the course. Working in hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, or colleges while studying PCBSc Nursing is not permitted. Candidates are also prohibited from enrolling in other courses or appearing for other examinations during the registration period. Attendance will be calculated annually.
Internal Assessment
Regular periodic assessments will be conducted throughout the PCBSc Nursing course. While the number of tests is determined by the institution, at least three tests (theory and practical) will be held each year. The tests may follow the pattern of university examinations. The average marks from these tests will be sent to the university. In the first year, two assignments will be given, and the marks obtained will be added to theory marks for internal assessment. Candidates must secure at least 35% in internal assessments to be eligible for university examinations.
The university will conduct two examinations annually, spaced 4 to 6 months apart, as notified. Candidates who meet the attendance, progress, and conduct requirements for PCBSc Nursing will be eligible for these examinations. A certificate from the Head of the Institution, along with the application and prescribed fee, must be submitted.

Schedule of Examination
For the PCBSc Nursing course, there shall be two university examinations, one at the end of I year of the course and the other at the end of II year of the course.
Criteria for Pass
A candidate shall secure at least 50 °/o of total marks in each subject in theory paper and practical separately except in English. The marks obtained in the internal assessment shall be added to the marks obtained in the university examination for each subject for computing the 50 °/o minimum marks required for passing. In case of English, a candidate shall secure at least 33 °/o of maximum marks for passing (inclusive of internal assessment and university examination).
Carry Over Benefit
A candidate is permitted to carry over a maximum of three main subjects provided he/she has passed in five other main subjects in I year. The candidate has to pass the carried over subjects before appearing in the II year university examination.
